Anna's Mess (South-Indian Restaurant)

Excellent, excellent food! Service was great. Vivek helped not only food but suggested places to visit as well. Highly recommend paneer dosa or dosa platter to see what you would like. Pineapple kesari was incredible! But hands down the chutneys - THE BEST! Would highly recommend for great food, warm staff and service!

Perfectly crisp and golden, served with three distinct and flavorful chutneys—the rich coconut, the tangy tomato, and a beautiful mint green one—plus a hearty, perfectly spiced Sambar. Every bite was a reminder of why classic South Indian cuisine is so beloved. And what better way to end a meal than with a classic? Their Filter Coffee (Kaapi) is the perfect brew: strong, frothy, and wonderfully aromatic. It’s the essential full stop to a satisfying meal. (And yes, that gooey, rich chocolate dessert was the delicious cherry on top!) We had the mini idly, paneer ghee roast, vegan chocolate ragi cake, and sukkah drink. Everything tasted incredible, wow. I’m South Indian and it was all made perfectly and full of flavour. The atmosphere was lovely, we sat in the little outdoor garden space. And Rohit Singh who served us was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend a meal here !!

One of the best South Indian restaurants I’ve ever experienced. The place instantly felt comforting, and the staff made it even more special. The medu vada and filter coffee were simply heavenly A heartfelt thank you to Vivek for making the entire experience so lovely and memorable.

Good south indian food option. Meals, dosa, mini meals.. everything is good , tasty and comfortable food.. thali is good option. And last, filter caffee and tamil masala milk.. both are best

Been here on the 1st week of Jan and had an awesomely awesome experience. Had Dosas, Parottas, Khichdi, Rasam, Appalams, their classic filter coffee and their rich chocolatey piece of cake. Can’t express how satisfied we were with the food. Had Sachin serving us with great hospitality. Definitely will visit again.

We had a great experience at Anna's Mess. The food feels truly authentic and the flavors are spot on. Just a heads-up for first-timers: the front door was locked when we arrived, so you may need to walk around the building to find the entrance as the Google Maps pin can be slightly off. We tried the Ghee Karam Masala Dosa, Ghee Podi Uttapam, and the Ghee Podi Masala Dosa. If you aren't familiar with the terminology, "Karam" means spicy in Tamil, and these are definitely the spiciest options on the menu. The dosas were excellent. For drinks, we had the Rose Coconut Milk, Thai Iced Coffee, and Filter Coffee. The coconut milk was a bit more watery than expected, which made the drinks feel quite mild. A special shoutout to Rohit Singh. He noticed we were struggling a bit with the heat of the spicy dosas and kindly brought us a complimentary Ragi Chocolate Brownie. It was a very thoughtful gesture that really made our meal. The Pineapple Halwa and Ragi cake were also delicious. Overall, it is a lovely spot and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for quality South Indian food in Rishikesh.

Hands down the best dosa I’ve had in Rishikesh! Crispy, perfectly golden, and full of flavor. Huge thanks to my friend for bringing me here tonight — this place truly surprised me. I used to daydream about dosa in Mysore, but now I know I can find pure dosa bliss right here. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic South Indian comfort food!
